About the Artists:

Mike and Nancy Maynard Photo At Mindpictures the aim is to create a portrait that says more about the people in that portrait than just what they look like. Mike and Nancy Maynard are always looking for ways to show personality and humanity in their portraiture.

Trained at the University of North Dakota and at the New England Institute of Professional Photography, he started Portrait Specialties, Inc., now MindPictures, Inc., in 1978. He has worked with creative darkroom techniques for many years, and, since the introduction of computer imaging, continues to find new ways to say just the right thing in a portrait. He is a past president of the Vermont Professional Photographers and was on the board of the Professional Photographers Association of New England. He received the National Award in 1992, the VPP Presidents Award in 1994 and the degree of Photographic Craftsman in 1995.

She joined Mike at Portrait Specialties in 1984. She has trained at the New England Institute of Professional Photography, and has studied various media with regional artist, Barbara Bellows.
